Basic Skills
Basic Skills - Proficiency in reading, writing, and math is demonstrated by either:
- A 2.5 GPA or higher on your bachelor's degree;
- An average grade of C or better in math and writing courses
OR
- Passing scores on the CORE reading, writing, and math tests.
Passing scores on the Praxis I reading, writing, and math tests, the ACT, SAT, or GRE can be used in lieu of the CORE tests, but must have been taken within 10 years of admission to the program.

If you already hold an initial teaching license, you are exempt from the Basic Skills tests.
